WHY MM-Offshore

The Only Rudder Manufacturer with Its Own Production.

German engineering

Every rudder is calculated for the vessel it will steer.

Our own factory

GME in China, 80 specialists, run by MM-Offshore. Every weld, every coating, every inspection happens under our roof.

On schedule

Your delivery date does not depend on a subcontractor. We own the production, so we keep the date.

Service for life

24/7 worldwide response and fast tailor-made spare parts, for the vessel’s entire life.
Welder assembling a rudder blade in the production hall

Unlike traditional suppliers, we control every critical step from design to long-term service.

EFFICIENCY

Less fuel on every voyage.

Our combination rudder achieved 5.3% energy savings in model tests. And our Wake Equalizing Ducts - flow-guiding nozzles fitted ahead of the propeller - are proven on 1,500 vessels worldwide.

HOW IT WORKS
The propeller leaves the water rotating, creating a turbulent hub vortex that wastes energy. The rudder bulb smooths and straightens this flow, reducing drag, cavitation, noise and vibration while converting more energy into useful thrust.

EFFICIENCY PROOF

Independently proven.

An exact scale model of a 17,000 TEU container vessel was towed through the basin of an independent model test institute.

Savings of up to

5.3%

Sensors measured the propulsion power needed with each rudder behind the propeller: the MMO Empress and two leading competitor designs, same ship, same conditions. The Empress required the least power at every tested speed.

TECHNOLOGY

Engineering first.

CAD design, CFD flow simulation, robotic welding (coming soon), CNC machining – developed in Germany, built in our own production.
EXPANSION

A new factory is rising.

Starting beginning of 2027
